I can’t say enough good things about Eva — she has been a life saver in my Pelvic Floor PT journey. I’ve been dealing with pelvic floor pain post IVF procedures, and had been seeing a different PF PT for 5+ months with no improvements. Eva came highly recommended, and I’m so glad I switched over. Within the first 3–4 sessions I already started to feel some improvements and began feeling hopeful again that my pain could be solved. My issue seems to be a bit more complex than general PF pain and tension, and needed more therapy than just internal work, deep breathing, and stretching. Eva took a very whole-body approach and worked through some full body tension and nerve issues. She’s also incredibly kind and considerate — she listens, provides really good direction and feedback, and explains things really clearly. I only left because I moved out of state, but she has continued to check in on me, and I really appreciate all the care and support. I credit all the improvements I’ve been able to make and reduction of pain to her.
Eva is a thoughtful, caring, and knowledgeable pelvic floor physical therapist. She evaluates thoroughly, tracks progress diligently, stays current on relevant research, and recommends medically backed exercises and therapies while taking into account the patient’s proclivities. She cares and is lovely to work with.
Eva is excellent! I have been to PT before for these issues and appreciate that Eva has a more expansive approach to the problem with exercises that engage the whole body. She is extremely knowledgeable but also sensitive and kind. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
I’ve had a wonderful experience working with Eva. She is consistently warm, patient, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. What stands out most is how well she tailors each session to how I’m feeling that day, adjusting her approach in a thoughtful and effective way. She also explains things clearly and helps me understand the purpose and focus of each exercise.
I came in dealing with significant low back pain from herniated and degenerative discs, including radiating pain. Over time, I’ve gained much better body awareness and learned practical tools to relieve pain when it flares up. The exercises she’s given me are realistic and easy to integrate into my daily routine. She also manages to find the right balance between challenge and recovery, never pushing too hard. Thanks to her care and guidance, I’ve seen a significant improvement in my pain levels—going from about a 7–8 when I first started in February to around a 1–2 most days now.
I always feel supported and encouraged during sessions, and I’m very grateful for her help in my recovery. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled and attentive physical therapist. Thank you Eva!!
My experience with Dr Shi has been terrific. We spent the first month of PT stretching and doing light exercises to work on mobility. We met 3x per week. The next month we moved into more specific weight training at 2x per week. I am in my final month doing most everything I was doing before the injury and meeting up 1x per week. It’s like having your own personal trainer.
If you follow the protocol I have no doubt you will be successful. Working with Dr Shi gave me my active lifestyle back. It seemed like a long road but now that I am here, it was completely worth it. At 56, I am back at climbing, biking, weight training and this winter, back to skiing. Working with Dr Shi never seemed like work, it felt like progress.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Eva for pelvic floor physical therapy since July and I’m really grateful for her care. She’s open-minded, kind, compassionate, and genuinely attuned. She brings the right balance of support and accountability, and knows when to gently push versus when to slow down. Pelvic floor work can be delicate and vulnerable, and she handles it with so much skill and care. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for pelvic floor PT.
Eva is an excellent pelvic PT. I wish I had discovered her after my first pregnancy! I was initially apprehensive about the treatment but Eva is so attentive, caring and professional that all my concerns went away after my first visit. My last pregnancy put a lot of stress on my body, and having a colicky baby added to the pelvic and back pain I was experiencing. After just a few months of treatment my pain has reduced substantially and my diastasis recti has improved. I am learning how to return to exercise in a safe manner with the clear and thorough guidance provided in each session. I’m very happy with the progress I’ve made so far and would highly recommend Eva for pelvic PT.
I have suffered from constipation for a long time. Finally, I was diagnosed with Pelvic Floor Dyssynergia (PFD). Most therapists for PFD treat only women. I was lucky and fortunate to find Dr. Shi who treats also men for PFD. Dr. Shi is an outstanding professional and person.
Professionally, she knows her job very well and is happy to help her patients get better. She has gentle but determined hands when treating patients. She explains the therapy in detail, including the physiology and the target results of each exercise, and makes sure the patient executes it correctly.
Personally, Dr. Shi is a warm person who treats her patients humanly and with respect. She is a good listener who makes sure she understands what patients tell her.
I have had significant improvement and relief of my constipation symptoms after about a dozen appointments. This is impressive and encouraging given the long time—about 2 decades—I suffered from constipation. I will strongly recommend Dr. Shi to anyone in need of Physical Therapy, and especially Pelvic Floor Therapy. Thank you, Dr. Shi.
A few months ago, I was diagnosed with a prolapsed bladder resulting from pelvic floor muscle weakness. The condition could be extremely uncomfortable and I was worried that it might impede me from being active in ways which are essential to my physical and mental health. From my first session with Dr. Eva, my fears have been relieved and replaced by a program that has helped me tremendously.
Dr. Eva is consistently dedicated and empathic, highly skilled, and resourceful. She is easy to talk to and quickly understands and responds to my concerns. She also continues to expect appropriate levels of work from me! I can’t play the “But I’m old!” card. As a result, I am stronger and more confident.
Dr. Eva has also gone the extra mile. At one point, she initiated a collaborative call with one of my doctors to discuss an additional intervention. The result has been a game-changer, significantly reducing my symptoms and discomfort.
Dr. Eva Shi has been an outstanding therapist for my right shoulder, which had surgery performed due to a severe injury. Her approach to me was meticulous in both her explanations, physical massage, exercise, and overall professionalism. With her support, I not only regained the use of my arm and shoulder, but my expectations were surpassed entirely in terms of my physical ability to function.
I regained my ability to live my life with vitality and confidence. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of physical therapy, regardless of age or condition. She works wonders!
Eva has been my physical therapist for over a year. She treated me for hip pain, then for a fall where I fractured a vertebra, and now for recovery after a total hip replacement. I’m over 70. She has been motivating and specific in suggesting exercise that is beneficial. Her massages have identified areas of resistance and eased discomfort. I’m expanding my range of motion as she monitors my improved mobility. She listens to me and has specific adjustments to improve my experience. I highly recommend her for her skill, attitude and judgement.
Dr Eva is amazing! I have nothing but good things to say about her. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, but she’s also super easy to get along with, and she makes training sessions very enjoyable! As an expecting mom, I went in with bad lower back pain and hip pain, and after a few sessions with her, those issues had decreased significantly. I also found that I had a lot more energy during the day, too! Strongly recommend for all the expecting moms out there :)
I had an excellent PT experience with Dr. Eva Shi. Her knowledge of combining massage, the Graston technique, and strengthening exercises has brought me relief from chronic Achilles tendinitis. I recommend her with enthusiasm!
Eva has been helping me through left shoulder pain and posture correction for the past few weeks, and already I am seeing noticeable improvement. My posture has been deteriorating for years, and more recently, I have a lingering shoulder pain that hadn’t improved for several months. I didn’t realize how much mental energy I was expending worrying about my shoulder, or shaming myself for my posture, until I started getting better. Now, under Eva’s expert guidance, I am feeling more confident, stronger and more mobile, and I understand how I can better address these issues on my own going forward. Eva is kind and patient, even when I ask lots of questions, and I always feel great after our sessions.
Eva is so great to work with and I am really glad she was recommended to me last month. As an active person over 50, I’ve recently had increasing discomfort in my hip and a sports overuse injury to my elbow that drove me to seek help. Eva is a great listener. She took careful notes each session and let her diagnosis evolve over multiple sessions as my symptoms began to respond to treatment. I’m not out of the woods yet but both injuries have been getting so much better over the last couple of months. I’ve already been recommending her to friends and when/if I have another problem I have no doubt I will be reaching out to her again.
